Greek Beer Awards 2025: Triple Distinction for Craft Microbrewery

The Greek Beer Awards 2025 Award Ceremony took place with great success on Friday, May 9, at the “Miltiadis Evert” Amphitheater of Technopolis, City of Athens, as part of the World of Beer festival.

This year’s event attracted remarkable entries from Greece, the Mediterranean, and Eastern Europe, confirming the international character the competition has acquired.

The Greek Beer Awards, the only beer competition in Greece based on blind tasting and international evaluation standards, have been organized by BeerBartender since 2017.
Since 2022, their reach has expanded to countries in Southeastern and Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean, welcoming entries from breweries, microbreweries, and nomadic breweries.
Participants submit samples of their beers, which are evaluated by experienced and internationally acclaimed judges, specially invited to Greece for this purpose.
With the motto: "We support good brews since 2017", the Greek Beer Awards aim, among other things, to promote Greek beer internationally and strengthen the sector’s export potential.

50 awards in 25 categories – Strong presence from Greece and abroad

This year, 50 awards were presented across 25 categories, with over 130 entries from countries including Greece, Italy, Cyprus, and Poland.

Among the highlights were the distinctions received by the historic Craft Microbrewery, the first microbrewery in Greece, which earned three major awards:

  • Top Lager: Craft Lager
  • Gold Lager: Craft Lager
  • Modern India Pale Ale: Craft NEIPA

The judging panel consisted of international beer experts, chaired by Italian beer connoisseur Maurizio Maestrelli. As part of the “Judges Experiences” program, the judges had the opportunity to visit local breweries and wineries in Attica and Central Greece, further showcasing the country’s potential for alternative tourism.

A competition with international orientation

The Greek Beer Awards are held under the auspices of the Region of Attica and the Hellenic-Italian Chamber of Commerce in Athens, further enhancing the prestige of the competition.
With steady growth and an expanding international presence, the Greek Beer Awards reflect the significant progress of Greek brewing and support the vision of global recognition for Greek craft beer.
